Q: What kind of aircraft do I need and is it available where we will be shooting?
A: After we review the specifics of your production, we’ll be able to suggest suitable aerial platforms and find one near your shooting location. We specialize in projects that involve international travel and have a network of pilots throughout the globe.
Q: Will the equipment need to be shipped freight to our location?
A: Because of our experience, we know the ins and outs of traveling with equipment and are often able to get it on commercial flights, eliminating the need to hire a freight forwarder.
Q: I’ve never shot aerial footage before. Can I just delegate that area of the production to you?
A: We would be happy to handle the entire aerial portion of your project. Just tell us what you want to shoot and our aerial producers will handle everything from renting equipment, hiring the crew, to obtaining all necessary permits and insurance.
Q: I’m told that a good aerial shoot is 50% operator and 50% pilot. How do I know if a pilot is qualified?
A: Just ask us. Most likely we’ve worked with them or know someone who has.
Q: I’ve heard that some aerial camera systems use missile technology and thus you aren’t allowed to travel outside of the US with them. Is that true?
A: It is true. However, we are one of the few companies registered with the U.S. State Department that are allowed to export and travel with these highly sophisticated camera systems. We maintain a library of licenses allowing us to travel to over 60 countries worldwide. Should your project take you to a country we don’t yet have a license for, we can apply for and usually be granted a license in a matter of weeks.
Q: Our camera operator tends to get airsick. Can you recommend someone to shoot the aerial portion or our production?
A: We represent and have worked with the best aerial cinematographers in the business. If your camera operator doesn’t feel comfortable getting in the air or working with our camera systems, we have many excellent operators for you to choose from.
